2. Get a Boy Scout Application form and fill it
out completely.
The form can be obtained from a
troop leader or from here
Youth Application
Write out a check to Troop 1139 for
you registration dues and Boy’s Life subscription (see a leader for the
amounts)
Turn the form and your check in to
the Scoutmaster or a Committee Member
3. Print a copy of the Troop Policy Statement,
read it and sign the document where indicated.

4. Fill out a Scout and Adult Information form.
This gives us contact information
so we can keep you up to date on what is going on and also gives us the information
to add the scout to our computer application to track his progress. The
Scout and Adult Information form can be found on the Documents page

5. Get a medical exam from a physician.
This gives the troop valuable
information about medications and allergies which we need to have available in
case of an emergency. The form to use
for the medical exam is valid for 1 year and can be obtained here.

6. Get a scout uniform
The troop requires an official boy
scout shirt (long or short sleeve) with all necessary patches, a neckerchief
(which the troop will provide), a troop t-shirt (which must be purchased from
the troop at a minimal cost), a pair of official boy scout socks and a pair of official
boy scout shorts or pants. Optional
items are an official boy scout belt and a hat.
The troop closet has gently used shirts,
pants and shorts that you may use. We
ask that once you have grown out of them to please return them so that future
scouts may use them.

7. Parents should read the Guide for Parents of
New Scouts

8. Parent(s) fill out a Adult Leader Application.
In the cases where you want to come
on a campout or outing or if we need you to supervise an event, this will register you with BSA and allow you
to be covered under the BSA insurance policy.
